Thought to have been built sometime in the mid to late 1950s at the Jorgensen boatyard in Picton, the hull construction is 3/4" carvel planked kahikatea with 3/4" oregon ply from the chine to the keel. The cabin is double ply construction and the decks and cabin roof are glass over ply. There is some indication the hull may have been originally built as a basic workboat, as evidence of an earlier higher floor exists in the transom. The original engine was replaced by an 80hp Ford 4.1 litre diesel (Lees Marine conversion) with a Paragon 2:1 reduction gearbox in the late 1970s.
Pop Jorgensen migrated to New Zealand from Denmark in 1955 & began designing and building boats in Picton. His designs are well known throughout NZ for their graceful lines and craftmanship and his later boats were larger and more sophisticated.
